My rotten body

April-May 2022

"My rotten body" is a piece I performed in Amsterdam and Berlin with the help of local artists at the beginning of  2022, during the months of my forced displacement.  While leaving Bucha and Irpin, defeated russian soldiers violently murdered or/and raped women, children, and sometimes men. Most of the victims were preteen girls. And most of them were refugees in Poland at the time.

The performance itself discloses a relationship between two bodies — a raped girl and an embryo.
Birth itself is the greatest act of creation. The incipience of the young girl is such a tender and beautiful process - just like a blooming flower. How can you irrevocably ruin both of these things at the same time? How can you fucking do that do a human being. The direct embodiment of the most horrific thing that has ever happened to you is now growing inside your body. It's rotting. Your mind and body are being torn apart. And you can't even get rid of this manifesto of pain and violence that is sealed inside your stomach. Because abortions are fucking banned in Poland.

The original artistic statement is in the carousel.
Unfortunately,  there are no videos left from the performance, but there is media coverage.
