Kiwi is a bird
January 2025
An intermedia performance exploring topics of interspecies communication, vulnerability, object/subject relationship, and egalitarian environmental interactions. Human alienation from the natural environment can be reversed, and the presented audio-reactive system tries to showcase the intricate connection between those two. Performance involves a capacitive sensor that reads the conductivity of a kiwi fruit, which changes in value with each human touch. Oscillations of conductivity are read and transformed into a soundscape, which is mapped live in a performance, showcasing the human/non-human connection through music. The piece aims to highlight intricate connections all organic forms of life hold and execute in their tender interinfluence.
