In this series, I develop visual coding systems in TouchDesigner that allow me to explore reality through the prism of technology, which also often leads to seeing technofascist lenses imposed onto us by the systems of power. Parameters of certain works were/can be modulated with sensors.

“consume meat” is an exploration of identity digitally imposed by surveillance capitalism, which extracts human experience as raw behavioural data.  It is more profitable for the systems of power not just to surveil our behaviours, but to shape our identities for the prediction of that behaviour.  Within those systems we start operating like machines, which were designed by technofascism .

The purpose fulfilled by modern corporate-designed technology is inherently capitalistic — it is oriented on the system's self-sustenance, rather than on any possible humanitarian ideal.  To sustain extractive patterns, such technology creates and imposes an identity on its user — an identity designed to mash its user with a system that ultimately enslaves them for resource extraction. The design of such identity stands closely with ideologies that perpetuate systems in power: xenophobia for the sake of division, fascism to sustain the loneliness epidemic, fear that feeds over independence, racism, sexism, islamophobia, antisemitism, and more. For example, TikTok’s algorithmic feed curation showcases how social media defines identity through engagement metrics.
